ABOUT USIn seeking to develop a healthier community, CornerStone Community, Youth, & Family Resource Center strives to offer a unique dining experience in the heart of a small rural neighborhood. With tremendous local support, we have been able to create the Corner Collective for gourmet coffee and dining, increased job opportunities, and exposure for entrepreneurs and new artists in our retail and performance stage spaces.
As part of our workforce programming efforts, many youth are employed in our bistro and bring forth the day to day discussions on menu items, specials, advertising ideas, and more. For many, this is their first type of employment and we allow them to gain skills needed for any job (customer service, organization, multitasking, work ethics) in a safe and supportive environment. Youth can build a resume of experience to propel them into their future in food service, retail, management, and even administration as we grow our internship and volunteer programing. |
Gift & Retail Shop
Entrepreneurialism. It's our jam! If you love tourist traps, you'll love our locally crafted items that have been created by youth and adults in our community. We know people are talented and with the use of our makerspace we provide a variety of creations. We also provide a selection of new gifts and apparel not currently available in our community.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
"Ever since I was a child, I have had this instinctive urge for expansion and growth. To me, the function and duty of a quality human being is the sincere and honest development of one's potential."
- BRUCE LEE
WHY WORKFORCE?In the development of CornerStone we heard youth say there were not enough places to eat and not enough job opportunities in Frazee.
In rural and impoverished communities, it can be hard for youth and adults alike to afford travel to neighboring towns for work. Many teens who are not yet licensed are seeking jobs to support their family. In response to their feedback, we employ youth to work with youth at CornerStone and the Corner Collective bistro was born. CornerStone teaches productive workplace skills for youth to build upon as adults and tools to combat the consequences of poverty. |
